The Los Rios Promise is our commitment to support incoming full time college students through their first two years of education at any Los Rios college by covering tuition and offering support services.

To be eligible for Promise funds, students must be a California resident, a first time Los Rios student and maintain a minimum of 12 units per semester throughout your two years.
You will receive an email from the college once we have confirmed your eligibility, at which point you’ll be guided through the next steps of the enrollment process.
The Los Rios Promise is available at any of our four student-centered colleges: American River College, Cosumnes River College, Folsom Lake College, and Sacramento City College.
Each of the Promise programs differ, so you should contact the colleges or the cities for specific information.
Yes. Any college courses (dual enrollment, advanced education, etc.) taken prior to high school graduation are considered ‘pre-college' and do not prevent you from taking advantage of the Los Rios Promise.

The Los Rios Promise is our colleges’ commitment to reducing financial barriers for students. It allows us to leverage various federal, local and state funding sources, including the statewide California College Promise Grant, to provide as many resources as possible for students. In short, the California College Promise Grant is one part of the Los Rios Promise.
Yes, summer classes are eligible for the Los Rios Promise as long as all other eligibility requirements are met (including enrollment in a minimum of 12 units for each of the Fall and Spring semesters).
Students who have attended a different California Community College in the past are eligible for one year of the Los Rios Promise program, presuming they meet other eligibility requirements.
